Mentors strive to teach like the Savior. They focus on educating for discipleship by helping all grow in truth through words, example, and invitations to at.
Mentors encourage others to allow the Spirit to take knowledge from the head to the heart by exercising faith through actions that show a willingness to learn. That understanding turns to intelligence as that truth is applied to our daily lives until it becomes part of who we are.
Scriptures:
Proverbs 18:8
Doctrine and Covenants 93:36; 88:40

Application:
Teach:
Help the youth understand:
- Actions - such as raising our hands and contributing to discussions during class show our willingness to learn and invite the Spirit to teach us
- Taking notes in a style of our choosing (drawing, writing, symbols, graphs) before or during class are also faith-exercising actions.
- Writing during reflection time is another way to show willingness.
- Sharing testimony of a truth or the evidence of a principle from our personal experience, also invites the Spirit to teach us.
Inspirements can
- Be invitations to act in order to better understand the knowledge we gain
- Invite youth to apply truths to their daily lives and experience the evidence of those truths.
Mentors should:
- Come to class prepared with what they asked the youth to do
- Be setting personal goals and applying the principle to their own lives
- Testify of the truth and the evidence they find as they live the truth
